National Treasure 2

Filming National Treasure 2Spent most of Saturday in London taking photos of stuff. Got some really great ones which I’ll upload tomorrow. Didn’t get the one of I wanted of St. Pauls because they were filming National Treasure 2 stunt sequences with a battered up 7 series BMW and a load of priests.

Tried to get quite a few photos today from Leigh, but as it turned out only a handful worked, mainly because I seemed to spend most of time time cleaning the dust that somehow got into the view finder. Got to find some compressed gas

Spend yesterday painting the hallway too, completely worn out! It’s now a nice shade of Irish Cream now though

Virtual PC

July 11th, 2007 by Richard No comments »

I’ve been spending a lot of time working with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 the last few weeks. For those who don’t know what it is, it’s ‘is a virtualization suite for Microsoft Windows operating systems‘. I use it for testing Windows applications on different versions of Windows and for different server configurations, etc but also for simply collecting old OS’s

I think my current OS list installed is

  • Fedora Core
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows 3.1
  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98
  • Windows ME
  • Longhorn Server Beta
  • Windows Server 2003 (running IIS, SQL Server, PHP 5 and MySQL)
  • Windows Server 2003 (running IIS and a very early PHP 6 beta)
  • Windows XP Home
  • and I have previously had a Longhorn beta (Vista) and ReactOS but I’ve since deleted them

Basically I really only use the two Windows Server 2003 images and the Windows XP home for testing and development. My licenses for Windows Vista are my main installed OS’s so obviously I’ve not installed them in Virtual PC.

I’d be curious to know if there was even the slightest possiblity of getting OS X (Intel) installed in VPC soon

DIY

Well the weekend was entirely taken up with DIY, fixing a new electric shower. What a genius website eBay is, I think you could buy everything you’d ever need from there.

Speaking of which I’ve got to check on the 70-300mm EF APO lens that I want

London Zoo

June 11th, 2007 by Richard No comments »

I spent most of Sunday wandering around London Zoo taking photos. It was good fun and good practice for the Masai Mara. I’ll try to post some of the photos soon, unfortunately they won’t be available for purchase or download as I don’t have a property release from the zoo so they are simply for my own collection

Site reorganisation

June 5th, 2007 by Richard No comments »

I’ve reorganised the way the photos work on my site. I’ve basically seperated my photo collections from my personal photos and put them in seperate galleries. So my collections can now be found under the photo collections link and my old gallery can be found under the personal gallery link.

Well I spent most of yesterday wandering around landmarks of London taking photos. I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out.
